This Years Supported Group.. Ken Reynolds - Student Support Worker at the Blandford School
Ken Reynolds post as student Support Worker at The Blandford School is under threat due to a funding crisis. Ken is employed by the Blandford Youth Trust; his salary is comprised of donations from the trust, The Blandford School and other community groups. In 2009 several of the community groups withdrew funding which now puts Ken's position in serious jeopardy.
Kens role provides a structured school based support service helping students who are experiencing difficulties, facing exclusions and also support for 'looked after' children. As a result students are able to resolve issues and recieve the support the need. An OFSTED report on The Blandford School in 2008 regarded his contribution to young peoples education as 'outstanding'.
Students, ex-students, teachers and parents alike hold great respect and admiration for Ken and the work he does, it is a service that CANNOT be lost!
I just wanted to say that, without Ken, I probably wouldn't have gotten through high school or be here now. Ken - never stop helping young people or being in the community, because you change lives, and help so much. 'Ex student'
